Mercury conjunct Mars is classically interpreted as fightin' words. These two do verbal conflict exceptionally effectively which means there's something to learn from them. The lesson as far as I see it is twofold:

1. Being right isn't the same as being effective.
2. Being effective doesn't make you right.

Effectiveness for these two comes from waiting for the exact right moment to speak with clarity, playing your cards close to your chest, taking the time to set yourself up for success, and staying laser-focused on your goals. These are tactics employable by anyone to fight effectively. Don't shy away from what works. The warning here is this: don't get riled up by things that don't matter. You can be effective towards many ends; make sure you pick something worth it.
